Insurance adjusters tend to have little reference experience for judging acceptable fees. The general public has no such experience.

My interest is giving some sort of reference points to consider. Other figures can be found in the Blue Book.

It is my belief that there is an "ugh" factor at work in crime scene cleanup work. This factor explains a big part of the fee structure that companies use. It is not possible to judge the value of the "ugh" factor when employess are used to do the cleaning. For them, the "ugh" factor's value comes to less than twenty dollars an hour, actually less than sixteen dollars an hour for most.

I can only speak to my own experience with the horrific experience of cleaning after violent deaths. As a company owner and professional cleaner, I expect to earn my money by giving super service and value-added services.

Narrative

The prices listed here are approximations. A solo, local cleaner will be able to clean for these amounts. or something close.

For those companies that say they can clean for less, consideration should be given to their entire service package. They should be given close scrutiny.

For those crime scene cleanup companies that claim they cannot clean for these prices or prices near to these, perhaphs they have become too top-heavy.

Considerations

A crime scene cleaner working alone will require an entirely different infrastructure than a corporate structured company.

The solo cleaner company will require more time, have flexibility, and a direct, vested interest in outcomes.

The corporate companies tend to play "King of the Mountain" with low-paid labor and the grieving public's money.

My fees are a bit different than the corporate model. I tend to use fixed fees. A death scene has limits to its damage. A solo, semi-retired cleaner has time to invest that other do not have.
